PHOTO NEWS: NNPC at #COP29

On the fifth day of the 29th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (#COP29), NNPC Ltd.’s Head of Sustainability joined the global sustainability leaders to discuss the topic : Gaining Momentum: Assessing the progress made towards methane emissions reduction and measurement in the oil and gas industry.

In his submission, Igwe stated that the NNPC Ltd. is responsible for energy security for Nigeria as enshrined in the Petroleum Industry Act 2021, ensuring energy availability, accessibility and environmental sustainability. 

Explaining that environmental sustainability guarantees NNPC Ltd’s long time presence in the energy sphere, Igwe said  the Company has partnered with Oil and Gas Decarbonisation Charter(OGDC) to help accelerate decarbonization process in its operations and reduce carbon and methane footprints.
