The NNPC Gas Infrastructure Company Limited (NGIC) is a fully- owned subsidiary of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC Limited) that was incorporated in 1988 and renamed as NGIC on 15th July 2022 with mandate to construct, Own, Operate and maintain Gas Pipeline Infrastructure for safe Transportation of natural gas nationally and internationally.
NGIC Operates an extensive gas pipeline network of over 1990km with intermediate and terminal gas stations across Nigeria.
NGIC is involved in the core business of direct transmission to existing markets and for medium and bulk shippers while expanding its footprints further.
. Construct, Operate and Maintain Gas Transmission networks in line with the Nigerian Gas Transportation Network Code.
. Enhance domestic gas utilization through gas to power, gas based industries (GBI) and commercial customers.
. Acquire stakes in multiple operational gas processing plants (operated by others).
NGIC is the backbone of gas transportation in Nigeria whose core values have been the major driver in ensuring satisfaction of customers, interested parties and all stakeholders. The forecast for in-country gas demand growth due to increasing domestic power utilization, shippers, and gas-based industry has necessitated its expansion of pipeline infrastructure footprint to ensure national energy security and increased revenue.
NGIC transports on- specification natural gas for its customers through a network of pipelines, with a focus on reliability and in line with the Nigerian Gas Transportation Network code (NGTNC), ensuring customer satisfaction through timely and effective service delivery. NGIC also carries out the development and execution of critical gas infrastructure projects aimed at expansion of the gas transportation network, Development of gas processing business through partnerships under sustainable and profitable business models, operate and maintain assets utilization with best practices and high safety standards.
1. Expand NGIC network capacity to 8.9+bcf/d to reach untapped markets in line with gas masterplan blueprint, increasing utilization of existing pipelines. 2. Invest in gas processing plants to unlock additional volumes of commercialized gas, eliminate flaring and increase processing capacity to 0.9+bcf/d. 3. Provide and maintain an effective and efficient workforce with the right competences. 4. Achieve 95% asset availability and 75% asset utilization. 5. Improve revenue and debt Management.
NGIC recognizes the importance of its host communities and has been committed in contributing to the economic and social development of the local community in various ways. For Exemple, NGIC has built Basic health centers in Delta State: . Umu-Eziogoli (Ukwuani LGA) . Umuseti-Ogbe (Ndokwa West LGA) . Aboh (Ndokwa East LGA). In supporting educational development, NGIC has built classroom blocks in Rivers State: . Obosi Quarters Omoku (Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni) . Idia Quarters Omoku (Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni. Additionally, lockup shops were constructed in Ugobokodo-Okpe, Delta State to support the business growth of rural women. Recognizing the importance of our host communities (our key stakeholders), several other projects are at various stages of completion.
